Patients and their families have raised concerns about the lack of toilets at the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital in Mingora, Swat.
According to a Dawn news report, people attending on their patients at the hospital are forced to relieve themselves on the hospital’s boundary walls. The few hospital toilets are filthy, the patients and attendants told Dawn.
Ghafoor Khan, a visitor at the hospital’s laboratory, said there were no separate toilets for men and women at the laboratory, leading to long queues and cultural embarrassment. A hospital spokesperson said the hospital administration intends to build new toilets and hire more janitors in the future.
