MMfD Comments:

The office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police deparment’s Additional Inspector General (Legal) responded swiftly to the request. The public information officer requested that the information application be forwarded to the department via email along with copy of CNIC. Within a few days of sending the email, the officer called over the phone to ask for the fax number and promptly faxed a certified copy of the required information. We think the process was facilitated by the fact that we had included a table format or proforma in the request that matched the police department’s internal record-keeping of terrorism incidents. We had seen an older version of the table on the police department’s website, which prompted us to use the same categorisation in our request.
